How to read a window quote
Two quotes for the same house can differ by thousands. Line them up on these points before you compare prices.

What a good quote lists
- Every opening. A line for each window and door with its size and type.
- Product line and frame. The brand, series and frame material, so you can compare like for like.
- Glass. Impact or standard, laminated or insulated, and Low-E coating.
- Approval numbers. A Florida Product Approval number for each product, and a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance in Miami-Dade and Broward.
- Installation method. How the old units come out and how new ones are anchored and sealed.
- Stucco, drywall and trim. Whether patching and paint around each opening are included.
- Permit and inspections. Who pulls the permit and whether fees are included.
- Warranty. Separate terms for product and labor.
- Timeline and payment schedule. Deposit, delivery estimate and final payment terms.

Red flags
- A single lump-sum price with no product details.
- No permit, or a request that you pull the permit yourself.
- Pressure to sign the same day for a discount.
